Summary
Done with 150 women, in a randomized controlled trial, this study looked at how kegels, lubricant gel, or nothing (the control group) were affected in terms of sexual function post-menopause. They found that women who did kegels and used lubricant gel both had higher levels of sexual satisfaction and improved sexual function, however, it was the kegel group that really got the best outcome. This suggests that these 'small but mighty' exercises are crucial as we age to maintain the overall health and tone of the pelvic floor, as well as our own quality of life!
